1.Trimethyl borate is a potassium (sodium) boron hydrogen intermediate. Vulcanizing agent, wood preservative, catalyst, gelling agent, heat stabilizer, hydrogen flame extinguishing agent.

2.Used for flame retardant treatment of cotton and preparation of active silica, and as a gas chromatographic analysis reagent for carbohydrate derivatives.
