1.Tetramethylammonium chloride is a phase transfer catalyst for organic synthesis. It has stronger catalytic activity than triphenylphosphine and triethylamine. 

2.Also used in the synthesis of liquid crystal epoxy compounds, polarography and pop analysis, the electronics industry.
