1. Used as cross-linking agent in polyacrylamide gel: 1,4-diacryloylpiperazine as cross-linking

agent in polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis can reduce background staining on silver stained gel, 

and it has been proved to improve the electrophoretic separation effect of protein and nucleic acid 

compared with other cross-linking agents.

2. Ethyleneating agent used for graft copolymerization of different enzymes with cellulose, pectin or 

starch to improve the resolution of two-dimensional protein electrophoresis.
